Specimen Processor Contract Job

Title: Specimen Technician

Location: Tampa FL, 33617

Schedule: 3rd Shift

Pay Range: $ 19.78/hr

Shift : 08pm - 4.30 am

Contract : 3+ Months

Work Experience:

• No experience required but previous laboratory experience preferred.
• Medical background preferred which includes medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory.
• Previous hospital laboratory experience is a plus but not required.
• Previous experience in a production environment preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general support in the Specimen Processing Department.

• Perform data entry (minimum 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes/hour).

• Handle specimen tasks: presort, A-station, imaging, centrifugation, aliquoting, pickup/delivery.

• Ensure all tasks are done accurately, confidently, and on time.

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Consistently follow safety and compliance protocols.

Work Environment & Expectations

• Fast-paced, production-oriented department.

• Work primarily on nightshift; must be available for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

• Maintain productivity and quality standards.

• Work in biohazard settings, practicing safety at all times.

• Able to sit or stand for extended periods.

Education
