About This Role

As a customer-facing Cloud Solutions Architect (Infrastructure), you'll join our field team to deliver top-tier technical solutions for customer and prospect challenges. You'll focus on diverse use cases where Apache Airflow is central to the architecture, helping customers scale operations and achieve goals via Astronomer's products.

This pre-sales role involves up to 20% travel for business and customer engagements.

You'll support customers mainly in PST and ANZ time zones, so flexibility in those hours is essential for collaboration and success.

What You Get To Do

  • Implement Astronomer's software and services at the core of major global businesses and organizations.

  • Guide our largest, most complex customers through their Apache Airflow journeys.

  • Serve as the key interface between Customers, Sales, and Product teams to ensure solutions address pain points and deliver value.

What You Bring To The Role

  • 7+ years in a data infrastructure role or equivalent.

  • 5+ years in a customer-facing role.

  • Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE, EKS, AKS, or OpenShift preferred).

  • Proficiency in Python and Go.

  • Solid understanding of network complexities and architectures.

  • Versatile with Terminal and CLI tools (hands-on role, often without GUI access).

  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting distributed systems.

  • Experience with complex, scalable SaaS infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud provider's API/tooling.

  • Background in cloud-native data architectures.

  • Excellent customer-facing skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication—able to explain complex tech issues simply to non-technical audiences.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience using or administering Apache Airflow, Autosys, UC4, Temporal, Dagster, or Prefect.

  • Enterprise data experience in regulated environments.

  • Scripting/automation skills, especially infrastructure (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible).

  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Prometheus, or Vault.
